Bush and McCain invoke the spirits of both Orwell and the naked Emperor by declaring with bully pulpit certainty that things that are undeniably evident (like, say, instability in Iraq) are in fact not there, and things nowhere to be found (like, say, gradual stabilization in Iraq) are staring us in the face.
Up is down and down is up and black is white and white is black and no one with a Doctorate in Glib writing on the front pages of the Wall Street Journal or The New York Times should convince a sane citizen otherwise. There’s a case to be made here for not paying taxes, as the government collecting them is shedding legitimacy like a snake sheds skin. It’s times like this that make me wish I had gone to law school, so I could puzzle out the constitutional grounds for refusing to fund lunacy.

An income tax opponent based in Las Vegas has had a long and sad battle with the Feds regarding not paying income taxes.
I believe he is currently incarcerated, has been fined, etc.

His fight started long before the current administration (yeah, that’s what we should do…..run some current – maybe 1,000,000 volts – into everybody in the current administration).
The Falcon says, it is easy to have 20/20 vison when one is not called upon to vote. As any scholar of the Eastern philosophies knows, LK is correct in stating that down is up and up is down. Consider sitting in the lotus position in meditation somewhere in the West. Everyone there is convinced that up is up and down is down. Now, our friends in China, also sitting lotus, are convinced of the very same thing! Therefore, LK, up and down are only perceptions. As is the so-called election; a perception that we the people actually have some say in who is going to be the next commandant in chief – or in the case of Sierra Leone – commandant in chef.
