The Brat With the Ball
At this point even if Hillary wins Texas and Ohio by substantial enough margins to get an edge in elected delegates (because I don’t think the super delegates are going to risk usurping the people’s voice), she’s going to seem like the brat who says “it’s my football (her delegates) so I’m playing QB”. If I’m remembering my Latin correctly, de jure she may be the nominee, but de facto she’s going to look more power hungry than public spirited.
And I don’t think she’s winning Texas, Ohio, or PA by substantial enough margins anyway, if she wins at all. I know she’s won states the Dems need for the election, but paradoxically Obama may well do better against McCain in those states than he did against Clinton. Why? Because her base will realize that he is the best hope for the resurrection of the country and adding them to his voters will provide the statewide majority.
Throw in some indie voters for good measure. Come mid-November John McCain and Bob Dole will not just exchange heroic and patriotic war stories, but political ones as well .
