Bank Stress Test A Joke

The government released the outline, with some specifics, of the stress test(s) the banks they consider crucial to the system will go through.

The parameters for unemployment are far too lenient, even in the worst case scenario. It may seem like the banks can bear up under those parameters. That’s just prolonging the reckoning, as those parameters aren’t stringent enough.

If these are our best and our brightest who’ve come up with these guidelines, our educational system is in worse shape than anyone thought.

  1. You negativist. What do you know about any of this?

Nobody knows anything about banking futures. It’s all perception at this point. A rising stock market cures many ills. A falling market causes many ills.

Why are you writing about Care Bears? Note in your posting– about banks care bears. What was that psychological slip pointing to? Are your bearish on banks?

If a new bull market was indeed born on March 6, all cautious economic projections will be wildly-understating. If not, you may well be right. Who can say?

  2. I think the government will be careful how they word the outcome of the stress tests. They know how markets react if anything hugely negative is stated, so the wording will be carefully analyzed ahead of time.
