Premature Stimulation
Forget for a moment about the substance of the stimulus package. Giving the members of the House a thousand+ page document last night and asking them to vote on it today is irresponsible folly.
Why have a deliberative body if they’re not given time to deliberate? And why deliberate if there’s no time to digest prior to deliberation?
There’s no doubt that the American people would prefer to have their elected representatives spend the next 3 days reading the package that’s supposed to dig us out of our economic hole, rather than shove the bill into law prematurely and spend the next 3 years explaining why they had to act “now”.
As far as history’s concerned, “now” can just as easily be next week or next month. In retrospect, should the package succeed, no one will begrudge the Congress or White House the extra time taken.

Pages on bills are tiny. I read this “thousand page document” in on sitting. Anways, count the number of congressman and it’s less than 2 pages per. Include their staffers and it’s one sentence. We have so many people up there because government needs to carry on, make quick informed decisions man.
