Mosque -> War? – PodKast

LK believes that rejecting the construction of the NYC mosque is ultimately doing mankind a huge favor, no matter how intolerant and politically incorrect his belief may currently seem.

The whole mosque thing is beyond absurd. I think you hit it hardest on the emotional component, which to my way of thinking is the most devastating of all. The terrorist cell thing works as well; only Jane Fonda and Joan Baez wouldn’t see that coming, but I guess they’re double dating Bloomberg and Cuomo. But – please, you got me thinking, and I’m rambling so take no offense to what I’m saying: This is the ultimate slap in the face. Picture the al queda top guns laughing at this! “Hey, we blew that up and not only did we make a point, but these buffoons are going to continue to drive our point home by putting up a f***ing shrine to what we did!!!!! Now every time an American drives by that building, they get to see a reminder that we are here. Every time one of our brothers drive by, we praise Allah for our victory.”
Why not a Vietnamese torture hut next to the wall in DC? How about a neo nazi club under the statue of the ww2 soldiers raising the flag? My question has to be why there??? Who the f*** came up with the idea that building a mosque on that site would be a good idea? Please, somebody explain the motivation, the agenda, the good part of this. To show how f***ing open minded we are!?!?!?!?! Yet another case against this silly globalization notion. You know, that song ‘bad gods’ mentions Compton. Imagine a “bloods” clubhouse on “crips” turf. THEY understand. They are criminals, thugs, murderers, drug dealers, and basic shitholes, but even THEY get it. You do not allow the enemy to insult you on your home ground. I know. call Japan and ask them about real estate in Hiroshima. I may want to put up an Eddie Rickenbacker Hall of Fame of Direct Atomic hits.
grrrrrrr
The Falcon
Everyone take a deep breath.
“Terrorist” is to “Muslim” as “Nazi” is to “Christianity” as ….
A place of worship for a religion practiced by billions of people is not even close to a torture hut or neo nazi club.
The terrorists win if we make this into a religious war. They win if we are afraid. They win if we close our borders, our minds and our hearts.
America wins by continuing to be a welcoming, pluralistic country that encourages other views.
Anything less dishonors all those who died for our way of life.
BTW – My family recently stayed in Nagasaki at the Catholic Hostel at the epicenter of the atomic bomb – on the very anniversary of the destruction of the city.
We were welcome, encouraged and humbled.
Obama just came out defending the Mosque. It takes a real disregard for your already plummeting approval rating to come out supporting something that 70% of Americans oppose.

MSL, your point on the Mosque is correct; he has the courage of his convictions and his thinking represents the better side of us all. my concern is that, until we find out where the funding’s come from and the Imam (Feisal Abdul Rauf) stops his evasiveness, Obama may well be giving the benefit of the doubt to people who don’t deserve it. in this case, i believe we should err on the side of caution, having been burned (literally) too many times.
if it provides any reassurance as to whether i’ve completely lost my compass, i think Rand Paul is a closet Klansman.
there; now i’ve angered the left and the tea party. a good day’s work. LK
