More On Ethical DNA, and Spreading the Word

This is a follow-up to the previous post, Like Father, Like Son?, so checking that out first will provide continuity:

Yes, I know, adopted son. But the ethical DNA is passed down through the environment of the household.

And I still haven’t heard anyone connect the bank failure announced last night, a bank where McC’s son was a former board member, with the S & L crisis of the ’80’s in which McC himself was one of the Keating 5. McC escaped prosecution but was reprimanded.

Corruption may well run in the family, and run through the ticket. As may bullying and misuse of power (see Palin’s “troopergate“).

Reformers my ass.

If the shoe was on the other foot Rush and Hannity would be all over this. Olbermann, Maddow, Schultz, Hartmann, and Rhodes don’t have their kinds of numbers, and they’re all preaching to the converted anyway. It’s Rush and Sean that get swing listeners through their ability to entertain with their bombastic pomposity, and they’re the ones that have the ability to move the swing voters to action. As I’ve said many times before, the left has to work on their radio presence post haste and post election.

I have to work on it as well.

The family McBanking connection was sent to Obama’s policy and speech writing HQ already, although it’s hard to see how they haven’t made the connection yet. Now someone’s got to talk about it.

And there’s no way this falls under the “family’s off limits” policy, unless the economy of the nation and the ethics of the candidates are off limits as well.

  1. Compliments to LK (aka Mr. S. Holmes) on some excellent investigative journalism. However, even if picked up by mainstream media, defense will probably be “insufficient time to have screwed up.” It’s been used successfully in the past, and unless a direct causal connection can be made between Lil’ Mac and the collapse, which is doubtful, a pass will more than likely be given…and in this case, possibly deservedly so.

  2. appreciate the appreciation, although it’s the Journal and not me that did the investigating. i’m just trying to put a spotlight on their reporting. i’d tend to agree with you and give Mac Jr. the benefit of the doubt if this report and the connection didn’t come from the WSJ, a right/red leaning publication. if it was from the Times or a release from moveon.org i’d say the fix might well be in.
but from the Journal maybe they know a lot more than they’re initially releasing pending additional confirmation, and they’re using the weekend to gauge just how much to let out.
i guess the jury’s out pending additional info.
your open mind is the way we’ve got to approach these things if we’re ever going to have that “one America” i keep hearing about.
i myself am doomed to live to provoke.
