I.O.U.S.A.
Last night I was fortunate enough to attend a one night only nationwide screening of the documentary I.O.U.S.A., which deals with the national debt and the unfunded future liabilities (read financial obligations) our government, and therefore we, as Americans, have. It’s as watchable as anything Michael Moore has done, and much more important to our future.
Perhaps the paramount point that was made was the immorality of passing these debts on to our children and grandchildren. Debts that we as a nation have so recklessly and irresponsibly incurred. And having the nerve to do so without informing them of the coming socio-economic train wreck we’re leaving them with.
I took my 14 year old son. It was the most frightening yet galvanizing movie he had ever seen.
Seeing it when it’s widely released is a moral imperative.
