On today’s show, LK:

De-mystifies the Greek debt debacle and makes it clear that the Credit Default Swap mess that threatens to bring down Europe and played a big part in bringing down Lehman Brothers is nothing but a bunch of bookies/bankers who can’t pay off winning bets. For once, it’s the bookies/bankers who need their knees broken.

Points out that the Chinese are cleaning our clocks in a way that’s eerily similar to how we brought down the Soviet Union in the ’80’s.

Suggests that no one give up a job they hate in search of greener pastures just yet (don’t stop looking, just don’t give up the bird in the hand), because it’s a misconception to believe that the better economic numbers mean that the coast is clear.

Chastises the NFL players, disses Santorum (like shooting fish in a barrel of contraceptives), takes 30 seconds instead of the 2 full shows it takes other hosts to reconcile the rush from Rush, and declares the Republican quest for the nomination close to a done deal for Romney now that Ted Nugent’s endorsed him. Cat Scratch Fever, Mitt’s new campaign theme song.

Talks with Dr. John Palumbo about the folly of Afghanistan and the pursuit of inner peace.

Johnson & Johnson and Google are both members in good standing of the evil empire of sovereign corporations.

The Mad Max movies continue to be the blueprint for the slow but steady breakdown of society as we know it.

Obama apologizes and the Afghans riot in a further display of his impotency and their irrationality.

All presented with as much good cheer and resilience as a realist can muster.

From the Grammys to Greece, it’s all about addicts, enablers, and co-dependents.   Whitney had entourages that had entourages, but no one with the guts to say “enough”. Greece has a government that’s never governed, and has left the country at the mercy of the Euro-Thugs.

LK scoffs at the antibiotics coursing through his system, and that ain’t all he scoffs at.

The menu is full of fine choices and LK isn’t sure what his first course is going to be until the moment the waiter asks for his order. Should it be:

a. The anxiety attack Repubs and Dems alike no doubt had upon watching Saturday night’s Repub debate?

b. The decadence of the price of pet accoutrements at Barney’s considering the number of people on food stamps, while the nose in the air pet-owners bitch and moan over a potential luxury or “millionaire’s” tax?

c. The US gov’t welcoming (and paying for) Iraqi students to come here to study before extending a helping hand to the servicemen and woman who sacrificed life and limb to attempt to make the place livable?

LK ends up ordering the complete dinner and manages to both devour the subject material and offer it up at the same time. Dr. John Palumbo is absent with leave (not that he’s gotta ask) as he’s doing yet another one of his soulful good deeds.

From J-Lo to John Liu (NYC comptroller), no one is telling it like it is. No one, that is, besides LK. The hedgies and skankster banksters swoop down on Iraq after our young men and women sacrifice life and limb to make the place investable, and leave without any of the spoils. They and their families should be the first in line.

Gratitude (the enduring kind, not the one day and back to complaining kind) is taken up first by Dr. John and then by Dorothy from Brooklyn. LK does a Rick Perry on the word ignominy, one of the SAT type words that usually flows out of his mouth too often.

China, those Asian cyber-terrorists, are going to be building high speed rail lines for the British, while the European countries begin surrendering their sovereignty to the IMF, the ECB, the EU and any other alphabet soup that wants to get in on the plundering.

And Jim Boeheim should follow Bernie Fine out the door.

The show is a blast; LK comes out swinging and doesn’t let down. The Red Bull and military alertness gum work overtime. Enjoy.

LK spends a lot of time on the Stupor…, er, SuperCommittee that managed to take 10 weeks before announcing nothing but failure. This while the census revealed that one third of Americans or 100 million of us, are living at or slightly above the poverty line. To Jon Kyl (R) and John Kerry (D) we’re votes, not even voters; a means to their ends. And Rand Paul’s gotta show some respect for his constituents, even if they don’t realize that he’s working against them.

Nancy Pelosi makes stock trades on insider knowledge that would get her arrested were she not shielded by the cloak of Congressional privilege, as do many other “representatives” of the people from both parties.

Lone wolves abound, Thomas Friedman gets things half-right, and Dorothy from Brooklyn weighs in on our deteriorating quality of life. Dr. John takes the night off in order to do another one of his mind bogglingly selfless deeds. No joke.

LK notes that the floods in Thailand affect the prices you pay for computers and cell phones, and the Greek debt crisis affects how much you pay for spaghetti, yes, spaghetti. Cops in North Carolina have to ask for gas money like they’re reckless teenagers. And we have to cut much needed defense spending because we spent our defense dollars so poorly.

Aside from the above, everything’s hunky-dory. Dr. John brings one of the true good guys to our attention, and caller Dorothy from Brooklyn can run the country way better than any of the current candidates from either side of the aisle.

LK’s got what’s been variously described as a character flaw, a gift, a pathology, a knack, or simply a compulsion, which is to incessantly and possibly productively connect dots that lead him to be something of an early warning system, which both benefits those around him AND drives them crazy, and maybe can be helpful to you.

Tonight he turned his gaze to OWS, which he compares to a TV channel programed by random hackers (WOWS), how Greece is not just Europe’s, but our very own canary in a coal mine, as well gambling in Florida with what he posits as the hush hush approval of the Mega-Church types.

Not to mention the guy who firebombed the Taco Bell because his chalupa didn’t haven’t enough meat, the Tobin Tax, and aspirin negating the need for any additional health care whatsoever.
